DEBATING ENTROPY – Howard Bloom

By: James V. Kohl | Published on: July 23, 2013

Although I do not believe that the universe created itself, I welcome Howard’s criticisms of the “2nd Law” (i.e., entropy) due to my understanding of hydrogen bonds in RNA and DNA, which are required for the seemingly futile thermodynamic cycles of protein biosynthesis and degradation that enable adaptive evolution via ecological, social, neurogenic and socio-cognitive niche construction. Until now I thought that the 2nd Law was temporarily defied by adaptive evolution.
Now I want to know if anyone thinks what they’ve been taught about the “2nd Law” or about mutation-driven evolution is accurate or important.
