Animal welfare vs human ethology

Dairy cattle welfare as a result of human-animal relationship – a review

…negligence in this area is one of the reasons for public disinformation regarding the level of animal welfare.

Negligence in all areas of animal welfare can be attributed to human ethologists. The history of their pseudoscientific nonsense extends back through the decades to the late Irenhaus Eibl-Eibesfeleldt, who was the “father of human ethology.”
His 848 page Human Ethology textbook is still the best example of how one book about the “instinctual” behavior of humans can lead to the overwhelming failure of others. None of his followers linked what is known about fescue toxicosis to what is known about biophysically constrained viral latency in the context of The Bull Sperm MicroRNAome and the Effect of Fescue Toxicosis on Sperm MicroRNA Expression.
Sperm microRNA expression is the obvious link from quantum physics to classical physics and all biophysically constrained viral latency and all biodiversity.

After publication of my 2013 refutation of neo-Darwinian pseudoscientific nonsense, one of Eibl-Eibesfeleldt’s followers who is the moderator of the ISHE’s human ethology Yahoo group, Jay R. Feierman claimed:

7/25/13
Variation is not nutrient availability and the something that is doing the selecting is not the individual organism. A feature of an educated person is to realize what they do not know. Sadly, you don’t know that you have an incorrect understanding [of] Darwinian biological evolution.

See  Nutrient-dependent/pheromone-controlled adaptive evolution: a model 6/14/13. I wrote:

An environmental drive evolved from that of nutrient ingestion in unicellular organisms to that of pheromone-controlled socialization in insects. In mammals, food odors and pheromones cause changes in hormones such as LH, which has developmental affects on pheromone-controlled sexual behavior in nutrient-dependent reproductively fit individuals across species of vertebrates.

Simply put, I showed that all variation is food energy-dependent and Jay R. Feierman claimed that I was wrong.
He added: Jay R. Feierman:

I am absolutely certain that if you showed this statement to any professor of biology or genetics in any accredited university anywhere in the world that 100% of them would say that “Random mutations are the substrate upon which directional natural selection acts” is a correct and true statement.

Feierman established a legacy akin to the legacy left by Eibl-Eibesfeleldt. Like all human ethologists, they are losers.
Today’s link Biotech BANRD” to an article published more than one year ago is proof of this claim:

Nobody wants to belong to the party of losers. One of the best strategies in such a case is evidently an interpretation of the change as a gradual accumulation of knowledge while their work has always been at the cutting edge. — Kalevi Kull: Censorship & Royal Society Evo Event (2016)

See: Oxidative stress and male infertility (2017)

DNA damage, largely owing to oxidative stress, is a leading cause of defective sperm function. High levels of oxidative stress result in damage to sperm DNA, RNA transcripts, and telomeres and, therefore might provide a common underlying aetiology of male infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss, in addition to congenital malformations, complex neuropsychiatric disorders, and childhood cancers in children fathered by men with defective sperm cells. Spermatozoa are highly vulnerable to oxidative stress owing to limited levels of antioxidant defence and a single, limited DNA-damage detection and repair mechanism. Oxidative stress is predominantly caused by a host of lifestyle-related factors, the majority of which are modifiable. Antioxidant regimens and lifestyle modifications could both be plausible therapeutic approaches that enable the burden of oxidative-stress-induced male factor infertility to be overcome. Lifestyle interventions including yoga and meditation can substantially improve the integrity of sperm DNA by reducing levels of oxidative DNA damage, regulating oxidative stress and by increasing the expression of genes responsible for DNA repair, cell-cycle control and anti-inflammatory effects. Oxidative stress is caused by various modifiable factors, and the use of simple interventions can decrease levels of oxidative stress, and therefore reduce the incidence of both infertility and complex diseases in the resultant offspring.

See for comparison: The Role of Activity-Dependent DNA Demethylation in the Adult Brain and in Neurological Disorders

Over the last decade, an increasing number of reports underscored the importance of epigenetic regulations in brain plasticity. Epigenetic elements such as readers, writers, and erasers recognize, establish, and remove the epigenetic tags in nucleosomes, respectively. One such regulation concerns DNA-methylation and demethylation, which are highly dynamic and activity-dependent processes even in the adult neurons. It is nowadays widely believed that external stimuli control the methylation marks on the DNA and that such processes serve transcriptional regulation in neurons. In this mini-review, we cover the current knowledge on the regulatory mechanisms controlling in particular DNA demethylation as well as the possible functional consequences in health and disease.

All activity is energy-dependent. DNA methylation links the activities required to find food to the morphological and behavioral phenotypes of all living genera via their activity-dependent physiology of reproduction.  Eibl-Eibesfeleldt and Feierman are among those who expressed their overwhelming level of human idiocy during several decades of scientific progress that was made by linking the epigenetic effects of food odors and pheromones from the physiology of reproduction to behavior in the context of the transgenerational epigenetic inheritance of all morphological and behavioral phenotypes.
It seems likely that when Jay R. Feierman dies, there will be no one left to tout the pseudoscientific nonsense of human ethologists.

“Science advances one funeral at a time.” ― Max Planck

Feierman’s funeral may be the last to precede or follow Schrödinger at 75 – The Future of Biology – September 2018.
But it will lead the way towards the future of biology by eliminating another biologically uninformed science idiot who is perhaps the last of his kind.
