Do you realize that light-activated microRNA biogenesis has been linked from RNA-directed DNA methylation to biophysically constrained viral latency via fixation of amino acid substitutions that determine the cell types in all living genera?

Sex sells, but the fact that every aspect of every level of biological organization has been linked from alternative splicing techniques of pre-mRNA, which are now called microRNAs, to all biodiversity via RNA-directed DNA methylation is well known.
These authors announce it as if this fact was something new.

… complementary epigenetic marks of active transcription are reduced as a result of DNA methylation.

Who does not know that RNA-directed DNA methylation is the quantized energy-dependent link from biophysically constrained viral latency to all biodiversity on Earth?
