The print edition attributes the authorship of this article to John Brunstein. That may help others to place it into the context of what is known to all serious scientists about the links from particle physics to energy-dependent autophagy and biophysically constrained viral latency.
Molecular analysis of the individual microbiome

…there is a constant and very complex web of interactions between gastrointestinal microbiota and overall immunity (for example see reference 2) and even neurological function (the so called “gut-brain axis”; publications in this vein have examined impacts of gut microbiota on everything from mood to Parkinson’s disease).

The complex web of interactions links light-activated microRNA biogenesis from the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction to all biodiversity in species from microbes to humans via autophagy, not RNA velocity.
DNA and RNA structure: nucleic acids as genetic material

If the environment is heated to the point where thermal energy overcomes the attractive force between two DNA strands, vibration wins out and the strands separate or denature. These double stranded regions follow the same rules as DNA: they are antiparallel with respect to the backbone, and the base pairs allowed are A:U and G:C.
