The tipping point (revisited): Genetic literacy

By: James V. Kohl | Published on: May 3, 2019

The Genetic Literacy Project is an organization that describes itself as dedicated to promoting public awareness and discussion of genetics, biotechnology, evolution and science literacy. It was founded by Jon Entine, a science writer and consultant who serves as its executive director.
Evolution? What, besides disease, evolves in the context of genetic literacy?

The cryo-electron microscope, or cryo-EM, is allowing scientists to image structures as small as viruses and ribosomes — the part of the cell where proteins are synthesized.

Reported as: Protein structure illuminates how viruses take over cells 2/17/16

A protein complex called an intasome is responsible for irreversibly inserting viral DNA into human DNA, a vital step in allowing retroviruses to cause disease.

Stress-linked reactivation of retroviruses causes all diseases.
What’s an intasome?
It takes only a few minutes to learn that it represents the light-activated assembly of the microRNA-RNA-peptide nanocomplex, which biophysically constrains viral latency and all pathology. See also: microRNAome
Jon Entine and his followers continue to ignore the facts about the microRNAome.

Kevin Folta is an example of human idiocy, placed into the context of The Genetic Literacy Project‘s source of salvation.

This list of experts included geneticist and former head of the university’s horticultural department Kevin Folta, a vocal proponent of the benefits of genetically modified crops and well known for his science outreach efforts, including the Talking Biotech podcast featured on the GLP. Folta has almost 22,000 followers on Twitter and is well-respected among his science colleagues.

In his comments (a reply to me), this well-respected moron claimed that:

…viruses don’t “degrade messenger RNA” — they don’t have the hardware to do that. microRNA is produced through a well described mechanism that I’d think you’d know if you were making such claims. Let’s start there, then explain how all installed transgenes affect that mechanism. Citations required.

I responded with links to the requested citations:

Thanks. The fact that viruses are used to created the GMOs links the virus-driven degradation of messenger RNA from unanticipated changes in the microRNA/messenger RNA balance to all diseases in all living genera via the measurement of fluorescence. That’s why researchers from Israel reported that the cure for all cancers is based on “The ability of different peptides to inhibit autophosphorylation of EGFR is presented by the decrease of the fluorescent signal (Y axis).’ https://www.aebi-bio.com/

Until then, your claim that viruses don’t “degrade messenger RNA” requires a citation to support it and other pseudoscientific nonsense.

Clearly, I was responsible for the problem with discussion that started with this claim:

I’m using light-tracking in Brugmansia (Angel Trumpets) as an example of how light-activated microRNA biogenesis is linked from biophysically constrained fluorescence in P. fluorescens to the growth of flowering plants and the entirety of a model that links sunlight from Schroedinger’s claims in “What is Life?” (1944) to feedback loops via the physiology of reproduction. GMOs alter every aspect of the biophysical constraints that prevent viruses from causing the degradation of messenger RNA that serious scientists have linked from mutations to all pathology.

I added

“Keep calm and carry on: miRNA biogenesis under stress” was published yesterday. It makes the claims of people like Kevin Folta irrelevant by linking the light-activated assembly of the microRNA-RNA-peptide nanocomplex from biophysically constrained viral latency to healthy longevity across kingdoms . For instance HYL1, is a tissue-biased regulator of plant miRNA biogenesis that links energy-dependent DNA methylation and autophagy.

Note: After Kevin Folta claimed that viruses don’t “degrade messenger RNA,” it took only one day to find a citation that suggests he is a biologically uninformed theorist.
For comparison, yesterday I ordered sunflower seeds and will plant them to show how the night and day difference between light-tracking and pollination in flowering plants (Angel Trumpets and Sunflowers) eliminated Darwin’s “abominable mystery” of how the flowering plants suddenly appeared in the fossil record.

ICYMI: Doudna and Stoszak (1989) RNA-catalysed synthesis of complementary-strand RNA began the legacy of biological terrorism via claims about the CRISPR Cas9 technology that refuse to die.

RNA-catalysed synthesis of complementary-strand RNA (1989) can be viewed as the link to biophysically constrained viral latency via Schroedinger (1944) What is Life? Alternatively, it can be linked to the horrid failure of the CRISPR Cas9 technology.

The discussion attempt degraded into obscurity. I will use the growth of light-tracking Brugmansia (Angel Trumpets) in ongoing attempts to reverse the amount of pseudoscientific nonsense that is promoted in the context of genetic literacy, which some people think is science literacy.
