Lewis Thomas (revisited): 90K (5)

The mystery of why someone would commit suicide is inexplicable in the context of theories about beneficial mutations and evolution. But, as predicted:

…we might fairly gauge the future of biological science, centuries ahead by estimating the time it will take to reach a complete comprehensive understanding of odor. It may not seem a profound enough problem to dominate all the life sciences, but it contains, piece by piece, all the mysteries” (p. 732). — Lewis Thomas as cited in The Scent of Eros: Mysteries of Odor in Human Sexuality (1995/2002)

Our results support the hypothesis that miRNA expression signatures can identify neuroprotective and antidepressant properties of novel compounds and that there is substantial overlap between neuroprotection and antidepressant properties.

For comparison, look at the number of suicides and mass killings that have probably been caused by biologically uniformed science idiots who failed to mention anything about the study of COMT Val158Met.

Summary:
COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity Val158Met, c.1-98A>G
Details:

Altered Response to Morphine (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

The patient carries two COMT Val158Met mutations, which translates to a reduced COMT function.

Poor Response to Amphetamine salts (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

Poor Response to Dexmethylphenidate (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

Poor Response to Dextroamphetamine (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

Poor Response to Lisdexamfetamine (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

Poor Response to Methylphenidate (COMT Val158Met A/A Low COMT Activity)

No one should be considered to be a medical professional unless they learn how food energy-dependent pheromone-controlled biophysically constrained viral latency is linked from fixation of one amino acid substitution to prevention of mutations, which are linked to mental and physical health via COMT Val158Met,
Most of the so-called medical professionals who failed to link food energy from COMT Val158Met to mental health or to pathology are examples of human idiocy, per Richard Feynman:

See for example: 7/25/13
Jay R. Feierman: Variation is not nutrient availability and the something that is doing the selecting is not the individual organism. A feature of an educated person is to realize what they do not know. Sadly, you don’t know that you have an incorrect understanding [of] Darwinian biological evolution.

Jay R. Feierman: I am absolutely certain that if you showed this statement to any professor of biology or genetics in any accredited university anywhere in the world that 100% of them would say that “Random mutations are the substrate upon which directional natural selection acts” is a correct and true statement.
See for comparison: Lipid Encapsulation of Self-Replicating Ribozymes by Andrew Jones

Based on progress in current research, it is only a matter of time before that “self-replicating” ribozyme is discovered.

… James Kohl presents an unsupported challenge to modern evolutionary theory and misrepresentations of established scientific terms and others’ research. It was a mistake to let such a sloppy review through to be published.

This is the published review: Nutrient-dependent/pheromone-controlled adaptive evolution: a model 6/14/13

…the epigenetic ‘tweaking’ of the immense gene networks that occurs via exposure to nutrient chemicals and pheromones can now be modeled in the context of the microRNA/messenger RNA balance, receptor-mediated intracellular signaling, and the stochastic gene expression required for nutrient-dependent pheromone-controlled adaptive evolution. The role of the microRNA/messenger RNA balance (Breen, Kemena, Vlasov, Notredame, & Kondrashov, ; Duvarci, Nader, & LeDoux, ; Griggs et al., ; Monahan & Lomvardas, ) in adaptive evolution will certainly be discussed in published works that will follow.

Andrew Jones wrote: The concept of nutrients and pheromones influencing gene expression did not originate with you and citing that brief excerpt does not validate all the other nonsense in your model. Do you not know how specificity within references works?
Charles Darwin placed his “conditions of life” into the context of how ecological adaptations must be linked from the nutrient-dependent physiology of reproduction to all biodiversity on Earth.

IV. Natural Selection; or the Survival of the Fittest Difficulties of the Theory “IF under changing conditions of life…”

V. Laws of Variation: Effects of the Increased Use and Disuse of Parts, as Controlled by Natural Selection “…variability is generally related to the conditions of life to which each species has been exposed during several successive generations.”

VI. Difficulties of the Theory: Difficulties of the Theory of Descent with Modification “…allied species are descended from a common parent; and during the process of modification, each has become adapted to the conditions of life of its own region…”

The food energy-dependent pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction in bacteria has been linked to adaptations in humans in different regions. The adaptations are manifested in more than 1800 human hemoglobin variants.

I asked Andrew Jones to: Provide a URL to show how you linked the evolution of self-replicating ribozymes to supercoiled DNA outside the context of my “model of the microRNA/messenger RNA balance, receptor-mediated intracellular signaling, and…stochastic gene expression…”
He didn’t.
The model was accepted by others and was cited in examples that moved science forward by linking marine invertebrates to terrestrial vertebrates with details of the conserved molecular mechanisms.

Role of olfaction in Octopus vulgaris reproduction

…via epigenetic effects of nutrients and pheromones…

Andrew Jones, who has no model of energy-dependent biophysically constrained biodiversity also appears to have no peer-reviewed publications. Taken together, the antagonism of Jay R. Feierman, MD/Ph.D (psychiatrist) and nurse Jones, who claims to be a biologist, could be responsible for the unnecessary suffering and the premature deaths of thousands. If the future of humanity is left in the hands of biologically uninformed science idiots like them, please kiss your loved ones good-bye now. Alternatively, link proper nutrition and reproduction to their survival.
