In Defence of John Money 6/16/24 exemplifies human idiocy.

“Money’s ideas are the source of “(trans)gender ideology”

Social scientists failed to link nutrient-dependent pheromone-regulated epigenetic effects in hormones to the affect of hormones on behavior via genetic processes of reproduction in From Fertilization to Adult Sexual Behavior (1996). With the help of first author, Milton Diamond, Teresa Binstock and I included a section on molecular epigenetics, and linked RNA interference (RNAi) to sexual differentiation of all cell types and to sexual orientation in species from yeasts to humans.

“Molecular epigenetics. It is now understood that certain genes undergo a process called “genomic or parental imprinting.” Early in embryonic development attached methyl groups become removed from most genes. Several days later, methyl groups are reattached in appropriate sites. Fascinatingly, some such genes reestablish methylation patterns based upon whether the chromosomal segment carrying the gene came from maternal or paternal chromosomes. These sexually dimorphic patterns are labeled genomic or parental imprinting, and these imprintings are inheritable but non-genetic modifications of specific genes (Razin and Shemer, 1995; Reik, 1989; Surani, 1991; Zuccotti and Monk, 1995).”

In the context of imprinting: “As was revealed by Money’s professional nemesis, University of Hawaii sexologist Milton Diamond (who died last March), this plan went horribly wrong. In partnership with Reimer’s former psychiatrist, Keith Sigmundson, Diamond wrote a 1997 article in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, which disclosed that Reimer (originally named Bruce) had reverted to living as a male.

Rather than examine the experimental evidence linked to the Reimer twins’ suicides, Social scientists still tout the pseudoscientific nonsense. “Anne Fausto-Sterling proclaimed sex to be “a vast, infinitely malleable continuum that defies the constraints of even five categories.” An avalanche of error soon followed: everyone has an innate gender identity, gender dysphoria is a unified phenomenon, the athletic advantage conferred by male puberty is a myth, and who knows what a woman is?”

Something else has gone horribly wrong. See: This New Idea Could Explain Complexity 6/18/24

Sadly, her claims about emergence and lumpability mimic those of the “Cosmic Egg” theory, where the separation of scales come from the chicken’s butt. See: The Cosmic Egg
