Energy-dependent structure and function: Until death (2)
The COMT Val158Met polymorphism supposedly is not found in species other than humans
See: Global variation in the frequencies of functionally different catechol-O-methyltransferase alleles

This is also the first study establishing the COMT*L allele as the derived allele unique to humans.

Other organisms do not commit suicide. That suggests the human specific COMT Val158Met substitution may be important to those who know very little about suicide prevention.
For instance, see:
The catechol-o-methyltransferase Val158Met polymorphism modulates the intrinsic functional network centrality of the parahippocampal cortex in healthy subjects

The COMT Val158Met polymorphism exerts a common influence on avoidant attachment and inhibited personality, with a pattern of positive heterosis
Subsecond Regulation of Synaptically Released Dopamine by COMT in the Olfactory Bulb (2016)
The ability of serious scientists to link olfaction from COMT to the subsecond regulation of synaptically released dopamine predicted that other serious scientists would link the physiology of pheromone-controlled reproduction to our visual perception of energy and mass in the context of feedback loops that are biophysically constrained by the space-time continuum. Thanks to those who did that.
See: Olfaction Warps Visual Time Perception (2017)
All serious scientists know that one energy-dependent change in a base pair links hydrogen-atom transfer in base pairs in solution from changes in microRNA flanking sequences to the stability of organized genomes in all living genera. That fact has not been revealed in the extant literature on mutation-driven evolution. In fact, nothing known about biologically-based cause and effect is revealed in the the extant literature on mutations and evolution.
See for comparison: All about that base
If Bruce McEwen had won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize many people would learn that he linked energy-dependent changes in base pairs from the pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction to all biophysically constrained biodiversity via what is known to serious scientists about sex differences in hormones, sex difference in the brain, and sex differences in behavior that have been linked to sex differences in the suicide rate.

Sex and Suicide: Why Do More Men than Women Kill Themselves?

…men account for about 80 percent of all suicides, and the lion’s share of those deaths are gun-related.

Survival is energy-dependent and RNA-mediated. The food energy-dependent creation of microRNAs links electrons to ecosystems, which links energy to suicide prevention. The virus-driven energy theft the links the degradation of messenger RNA to all pathology, also links the energy theft to suicide. The most effective treatment for suicidal ideation is clearly the restoration of the energy-dependent microRNA/messenger RNA balance.
See for comparison to the facts about our species survival and the energy-dependent pheromone-controlled survival of species from microbes to humans.

MEGA – Core of Phylogenetic Analysis in Molecular Evolutionary Genetics

Molecular evolutionary genetics analysis (MEGA) is a bioinformatics tool used for genome analysis of molecular sequences to measure evolutionary distance for the construction of phylogenies. MEGA software package was designed at the Pennsylvania State University lab under the supervision of Masatoshi Nei…

Masatoshi Nei is the fully-discredited evolutionary theorist who published Mutation-Driven Evolution on the same day in 2013 that I published: Nutrient-dependent/pheromone-controlled adaptive evolution: a model , which was subsequently correctly described as a refutation of all neo-Darwinian pseudoscientific nonsense in Criticisms of the nutrient-dependent pheromone-controlled evolutionary model.

The 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the cryo-EM technology that links energy-dependent changes in electrons to ecosystems in all living genera via autophagy, which protects all organized genomes from the virus-driven degradation of messenger RNA. The energy-dependent protection links what organisms eat to the pheromone-controlled physiology of reproduction and all biodiversity.
